Counselors
Counselors will stay in state-of-the art cabins with 9 campers each and assist with the instruction of outdoor skills such as rock climbing, overnight backpacking, swimming, canoeing, sailing, homesteading, wilderness survival, filmmaking, ecology, arts and crafts, and mountain biking. Candidates should understand the NorthBay mission and set a strong example of character and leadership for both campers and staff. Camp sessions run June 29th-August 9th 2008, with a week of mandatory staff training starting June 23. We also require that every counselor have a First Aid Certification and will be offering a course the week of staff training. Summer compensation is dependent on experience with additional compensation for employees with certifications, such as lifeguard, medication technician, wilderness first responder, or water safety instructor. Skill Leaders
Skill Leaders will be responsible for teaching one of our many skills, such as Sailing, Paddling, Dance/Drama, Archery, Land Sports, Mountain Biking, Swimming, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, Pioneering, Arts & Crafts, Wilderness Living, or Waterskiing/Wakeboarding. Other responsibilities may include management of counselors in skill, lesson and safety plans, accounting for campers, accompanying campers on off site trips, etc. Enthusiasm and group management are a must. Some skills may require certification. Skill leaders are not required to reside in cabins with children or on camp property. Room and board is not included.
Head Counselors
Responsibilities include management and scheduling of cabin counselors, scheduling and planning cluster activities, campouts, camper emergencies, etc. Head Counselors do not reside in cabins with children, but are required to reside on camp property. Dates for employment are from June 18-August 10. Room and board is included.
Trips and Transportation Coordinator
Responsibilities include coordinating transportation, staff, food, gear, medical supplies, scheduling, and finances associated with weekly off site skill trips of up to 12 campers on a trip. Also responsible for coordinating airport, bus, and shuttle transportation for campers and staff. Must be at least 21 years of age with a clear driving record. The Trips and Transportation Coordinator will not reside in cabins with children, but is required to reside on camp property. Room and board is included.
